Introduction

Introduction

The PA Register allows Personal Assistants and Individual Employers (people looking to employ a Personal Assistant) to meet each other. This page contains some helpful guides to help you get started using the PA Register.

How To Guide

Create An Account

How to: Create an Account

You need to create an account to use the Sheffield PA Register. Creating an account lets create and post your own adverts looking for a Personal Assistant or an Employer. It also enables you respond to adverts you see on the register, so you can make contact with the PA or employer you would like to speak to.

Creating a PA Register account is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Click the “Register” button in the top right corner of the screen and then enter your details:

This is the email address that will be used to receive emails from people responding to your adverts.

NOTE: They will be able to see your email address after you have made your first contact with them, so it is best to use an email address you have created specifically for managing your PA or Employer emails.

This is your name on the website and it is what people will see when they look at your adverts.

Try to make sure you use a strong password. The box below where you create your password will tell you how strong the password you have chosen is. Do not base your password on things like birthdays, pets names or things that are easy to guess.

Once you have completed the steps above, now click the “Sign Up” button and you will receive an email confirming the creation of your account. You can now sign in and use the PA Register to search for a PA, search for an employer or create an advert advertising that you are looking for a PA or an employer.

Post An Advert

How to: Post An Advert

Once you have your account you can post an advert, either as a PA looking for employment, or as an Employer looking for a PA.

From any page you can click the white “Add an advert” button in the top menu bar. Next you need to choose if you are an Employer (looking for a PA) or you are a PA (looking for an Employer).

Click the “Employer Advert Listing” on the left if you are an Employer (looking for a PA).

Click the “PA Profile Listing” on the right if you are a PA (looking for an Employer)

Now you are on the “Your Advert Listing Page” where you can fill out your information and create your advert.

Advice when creating an advert:

If you need to time to think you can always save your advert as a Draft and come back later with more information. Simply scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Save as Draft” button.

Be honest about what you do and don’t want from a PA or an Employer. It’s important that you get the right PA or Employer for your needs, so be honest about what you want. For example, you might not want to work in a property with pets, that’s fine, but remember to say so on your advert so that the right people can get in touch.

Think carefully about what your needs are, and what the person reading the advert needs to know. Have you remembered to put the days/times you require, the salary you pay or expect?

Remember not to put any personal information in your advert that you wouldn’t want out in the public, such as your phone number, address, or email address.

When you have finished adding all the information required for your advert, click the green “Submit Listing” button at the bottom of the page.

Your completed advert will then be sent for moderation. This is to make sure that no adverts containing inappropriate language, or which contain personal information are posted. Once your advert has been checked it will be posted to our listings and will be viewable by people visiting the PA Register. From this point on, people who see your advert and want to apply to work for you or employ you can contact you using the PA Register messaging service.

Contact

How to: Contact an Employer / PA

To contact a PA or an Employer, first you need to browse the adverts they have posted to find one that looks suitable.

To browse PA adverts click “PA Listings” at the top of the page.

To browse Employer adverts, click “Employer adverts” at the top of the page.

Once you have found a PA or an Employer that you would like to talk to, to discuss the possibility of employment, click in to their advert, then click the green “Direct Message” button on the right of the screen. Remember, when you message someone they will be able to see the email address you used to create your PA Register account.

This will open up a box for you to write a message to the PA/Employer. Once you written your message click the green send button and the message will be sent to them.

They will also receive an email letting them know you have messaged them and will be able to respond to your message.

PA Register staff will not be able to view your messages to PAs / Employers so remember to be safe, sensible and polite when messaging people, and do not give out personal details like your address.
